UFV works with the Post-Secondary Employers Association (PSEA) to ensure that the negotiated agreement is in line with sustainable service mandates. The sustainable services bargaining mandate applies to all public sector employers with unionized workers whose collective agreements expire on or after December 31, 2018. Some of the agreements signed by the UFV involve accommodation if there is reciprocity, but most of them do not have clauses that provide for hosting foreign students in residences domiciled by the UFV. The sustainable services bargaining mandate supports the government`s commitment to improve the services people rely on, make life more affordable, and invest in sustainable economic growth. The mandate is in line with B.C.`s commitment to balanced budgets and sound budget management. At present, nearly 325,000 public sector employees – nearly 98 percent – are covered by interim agreements or ratified under B.C`s sustainable services bargaining mandate. UFV has two restaurants with a varied menu and available at a lower cost (about 0.55 $US). The university restaurant (UK) operates according to the academic calendar and certain events. Therefore, January is the period of collective leave of employees; in February, it only operates during SEARA (Catholic event); in March, it resumed its usual activities. In July, it runs until the end of the final exams, during the peasant week or other events. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, only breakfast and lunch are served, dinner is not offered. Foreign students can use the EF as long as they prove the link with the UFV.

The collective agreement between the Faculties and Staff Association (ASL), which represents the faculty and staff of all campuses and the university, expired on March 31, 2019. The parties will begin negotiating a renewed collective agreement on February 21, 2020. The collective agreement is a contract negotiated through collective bargaining between the Association of Faculties and Staff (FSA) and the UFV. This agreement defines the conditions of employment of unionized teachers and UFV employees as well as the rights, privileges and obligations of the union, the employer and the workers. • ENGR 340: Microprocessors and Embedded Systems For the third year in a row, Wilfrid Laurier University has been named by Canada`s Top 100 as one of Waterloo`s Top Employers. The Faculty of Physics is looking for qualified candidates who are interns at the UFV for a temporary appointment in the 2020-2021 academic year. This LTA is scheduled for a 12-month appointment (August 1, 2020 to July 31, 2021) and includes the preparation and teaching of six (6) physics and/or engineering courses as well as some services for the department and the university.
